"Tolerance" means respecting the many differences among us, including ethnicity, race, skin color, religious affiliation, beliefs, gender, sexual identity, abilities/disabilities, and age. Tolerance does not mean that we embrace these differences for ourselves, but that we respect others as we want to be respected for who we are. Tolerance goes beyond "tolerating". It is an open-minded, generous and unbiased way of accepting one another.
